It is with extreme sadness that we inform you of the
passing away of our ELDER, WELL-WISHER and GUIDE,
HAJI AHMED FAKIR MANIYAR, Founder,
Jameah Rahmania, Khambhiya. Haji Ahmed Maniyarhad
been HON. TRUSTEE ALIPORE SOCIAL WELFARE TRUST all his
life. We at Alipore Social Welfare Trust shall remember him for his prompt decision to sell the plot of land at a purchase rate when he had an offer to sell the same land at a very premium rate. Today where Alipore Hospital stands had formerly been his property which he gave at a throwaway price on one request of Late Haji Ismail Hassan Mayet Jawahar. His contribution to Alipore and surrounding areas, in particular, and the Ummah, in general, was awesome. Haji Ahmed Maniyar have left a legacy which will be extremely difficult to emulate.
Marhoom Haji Ahmed Maniyar was
a well-wisher of Alipore Social Welfare Trust and Alipore
Hospital and Research Centre and had kept keen interest in
various projects of ASWT. Since inception of Alipore Social
Welfare Trust, the trustees and workers of the trust were
given moral support and back-up from this great son of

October. 2009 It is with extreme sadness that we inform you of the passing away of Br. Mohammed Ismail Dajee, Former President, Alipore Muslim Association, South Africa. Marhoom Mohamed Ismail Dajee served as AMA, SA, President during the period 2006 and 2007. His contribution to our Association, in particular, and the Ummah, in general, was enormous. Mohammedbhai Dajee have left a legacy which will be extremely difficult to emulate. Marhoom Mohammedbhai Dajee was a well-wisher of Alipore Social Welfare Trust and had kept keen interest in various projects of ASWT. Since inception, Marhoom Mohammedbhai has always supported Alipore Hospital project.

10th May 2009 A long queue was formed at the Main Entrance of Alipore Hospital & Research Centre, in the early morning of 10th May. Old men and Women, young adults and children too, waited for their turn at the 'Registration Desk', where the Receptionist of Alipore Hospital, politely handed them a Registration Slip and a Nurse greeted them with a smile as she led them to the seating area in the main Lobby of the Hospital. Soon the Team of Rotary Eye Institute, Navsari, arrived and immediately started preparations to begin the Camp. Their Team had Two Ophthalmologists (Eye Surgeons), Ophthalmic Assistants, Optometrists and Trained Nurses along with support staff. A small Inauguration Function was organised, anchored by Mr Suhel Shah (Accountant of our Hospital), where the Team of Rotary Eye Institute, the Patients and their Attendants and the "Alipore Hospital Patient Welfare and Advisory Committee" Members were welcomed. Present during the function were The Trustees of ASWT Alipore Hospital Mr Hassanbhai I. Mayet, Mr Gulamnabi Laher, Mr Bashirbhai Karolia, Mr Yusufbhai Loonat, and Mr Ashrafbhai Vali. Dr Ankur Talavia, full time Physician of the Alipore Hospital welcomed the guests and spoke about the importance of such camps. Dr Roopam Gupta, CMO cum Administrator spoke regarding the Team Work and achievements at Alipore Hospital recently. The Senior-most member of the Rotary Eye Hospital Team, Dr Paresh, spoke about the Institute and their achievements. It was welcomed with thundering applause when he mentioned that this was their 7,692nd Eye Camp. He gave an outline to the patients regarding the day's activities. The President of ASWT Alipore Hospital, Mr Hassanbhai I. Mayet, welcomed the team and lauded their achievements. The Team of Rotary Eye Institute was given a token of appreciation. The "Alipore Hospital Patient Welfare and Advisory Committee" Members who were present were honoured by the Trustees and their Identity Cards were presented to them. The Camp began immediately after the brief inauguration. The patients were examined by 'Vision Test', followed by Ophthalmologists Consultation and Ophthalmoscope examination, thereafter 'Refraction Test' was done by Optometrists. The patients requiring Vision Correction with Spectacles were provided with the correct lens number and they could get a new pair of Spectacles at a token price of Rs.50. only. The patients having cataract problems were re-examined by the Eye Surgeons and selected for Cataract Surgery. Ambulances transported the patients to Rotary Eye Institute where they were Operated upon for Cataract on the 11th of May. The Trustees Mr Gulamnabi Laher and Mr Yusufbhai Loonat along with the Administrator and staff of Alipore Hospital were present during the post operative period, to supervise and help Our patients in any possible way. The trustees thanked the Hon. Secretary of Rotary Eye Institute, Mr Viral Purohit, and presented a Certificate of Appreciation. "It is the Beginning of a Long relationship between Alipore Hospital and Rotary Eye Institute, Navsari"- Said Mr Yusufbhai Loonat. The very next day on 12th, the main lobby of Alipore Hospital had a few Elder women and men, with Happy Faces and Bandaged Eyes, just returned from Rotary Eye Hospital, and Team of Alipore Hospital was Proud that their blessings would lead us to achieve still greater feats.For Photographs of the Eye Camp Please CLICK HERE
7th May 2009 At Alipore Hospital, the Medical Services are provided to the Needy without any Consideration or Discrimination of Caste, Creed, Colour, Language or Religion. We want to Train our staff to give the best possible service in an 'Individualised Manner' so that the Patient feels special and Satisfied. A Seminar was organized at Alipore Social Welfare Trust's Alipore Hospital & Research Centre, Alipore, on 'Health Care & Islam'. The Seminar was specifically designed for Health Care Professionals who wished to understand Islam and Muslims better so That they could serve the Community more Efficiently. The Speaker was Mr. Kausher Tai, who is the Director of Aksaa Ltd - Education Islam project that specializes in delivering Islamic Cultural Awareness Training for non-Muslim public sector professionals. Mr. Kaushar has held senior management positions in Health and Social Care fields and Regeneration programmes. He is a qualified Health and Social Care professional with experience in managing large and complex projects. The Programme began with a Simple Quiz and ended with a visit to the Mosque. The Doctors, Technical Staff, Nursing Staff and House-Keeping Staff of ASWT Alipore Hospital & Research Centre, listened with Attention and asked plenty of Questions, and Mr Tai left no question unanswered. He gave examples even from personal experience, which made the Seminar more realistic & prompted discussion. The programme was delivered in the spirit of dialogue, learning and respect. 6th May 2009 The Diabetes camp was a runaway success with an Overwhelming response. The Crowd of people at the Main Lobby of Alipore hospital was evidence enough that today's Camp was a Much Awaited Opportunity for the multitudes of poor people who were Diabetics and even those who were concerned about their health. The Team of Alipore Hospital was on their toes, leading, supervising and helping the patients. 156 Patients came over to get their Diabetes Status Checked up. They were subjected to Blood Tests, Urine Tests and Special Test for Peripheral Neuropathy (A Complication of Diabetes- Leading to Numbness and Ulcers in foot). Dr Ankurbhai Talavia M.D. General Medicine & Full time Physician of our Hospital examined each patient meticulously and advised them. He made each patient feel at home at the Hospital and eased their worries regarding the Disease they suffered from. The Dietician conducted Seminars on the 'Proper Diet' of the patients with diabetes. The Patients were given a "Diabetic Card" to keep in their purses for emergency bearing the most vital data (Name & Contact No. of Patient, Treating Doctor, Medicines being Taken and what to do as First Aid if Person was found in an altered sense). They also received Easy to Understand Literature regarding the Precautions, Exercises and Diet in Diabetes. The Hospital provided Biscuit Packets and Sugar Free tea to all People attending the camp and they were very pleased with the services offered and were full of Praises. For Photographs of the Diabetic Camp Please Click CLICK HERE 1st May 2009 The Alipore Hospital & Research Centre's Trustees, Doctors and Management have decided to organize 'Medical Camps' at our Hospital Premises on a regular basis. 1. A "Diabetes Camp" is planned for 6th of May, wherein the Patients shall be given a Full Diabetes Check up & Advise. Dr Ankurbhai Talavia, M.D. General Medicine & Full time Physician of our Hospital shall be giving Free Consultation to the patients. Our Pathology Department shall be conducting Free Blood Sugar Test. Our MBBS Medical Officers shall do the initial general examination and Special Technicians shall perform the Tests for Complication of Diabetes. A Dietician shall be called in to give Advise on a proper Diabetic Diet. 2. An "Eye Camp" has been planned on 10th (Sunday) May, 2009. We are going for a Joint Venture with Rotary Eye Institute, Navsari, (Super Specialty Centre for Ophthalmology) who will help us to organize the camp in which patients shall be Screened and Cataract Operations shall be done by a Team of Ophthalmic Surgeons, and it shall be totally Free of Cost for the patients. The Details have been worked out and the Advertisement is being done in the surrounding areas via Mouth-word, Pamphlets and Newspaper inserts. A Team from amongst the Staff of our Hospital has been selected as Volunteers for both these Camps. "Alipore Hospital Patient Welfare and Advisory Committee" Members are being informed regarding the above Camps. 11th April, 2009 The Trustee Board of Alipore Social Welfare Trust Alipore Hospital & Research Centre has decided to form an "Alipore Hospital Patient Welfare and Advisory Committee". This shall be a committee of "Active and Dedicated Interested" persons, from the surrounding villages and towns, who share the Vision of ASWT and they shall hold an Honorary Post of a Committee "MEMBER". 1. They will be the "ACTIVE LINK" connecting the Alipore Hospital to the Masses. 2. Any 'Poor Patient' sent by them to Alipore Hospital and recommended for discount shall be receiving a Discount in the Hospital Treatment Bill (up to 30%). 3. There shall be a "Meeting" of the Trustees and Management of Alipore Hospital with the committee Members atleast once in 2 months where the members shall give 'Direct Feedback' Regarding the Services Being Provided by Our Hospital and 'Advise' as to how we can best utilise our Resources to Provide the Best of Service to the Patients. 4. They shall be kept UPDATED regarding the Activities at Alipore Hospital (eg. Medical Camps, Seminars etc) so that the news can reach their Village or Town and the people who are in touch with them can benefit from Our Services in Time. 5. The Hospital Administrator Dr Roopam Gupta and Supervisor Mr Ilias Mansoor shall be personally visiting the "Members", at their homes and explain to them this plan and register their Names as "MEMBER" of "Alipore Hospital Patient Welfare and Advisory Committee". (A Simple Form is to be filled & a Photograph attached). 6. The "MEMBERS" shall be receiving an "IDENTITY CARD" from the Management of the Alipore Hospital. The work of registering the Committee Members is to Begin Shortly. 3 0 March 2009The Media Lauds The Achievement of Alipore Hospital A Milestone for Medical world, an Example of teamwork at a peripheral hospital and a ‘Feather in the Cap’ for the ASWT’s Alipore Hospital Team. This was the Headlines in the Leading News Papers of South Gujarat, and the electronic media through Television Channels gave PRIME TIME Coverage to the Achievement. A Press Conference was organized at Surat on 30th March 2009, by Surat chapter of ‘India Renal Foundation’ where the print and electronic media was updated. The team of Alipore Hospital, Dr Ankur Talavia (Physician) Dr Ashok Patel (Visiting Neurosurgeon), Dr. Roopam Gupta (Hospital Administrator cum CMO) and Ilias Mansoor (Supervisor) attended the Press Conference. Mr. Nilesh Mandlewala, Vice President of The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce & Industry, and Member of India Renal Foundation Congratulated the Team of Alipore Hospital on their Achievement. Dr. Roopam Gupta explained how a Peripheral Health Center of Alipore Hospital, 65 Kms away from Surat, played such a KEY ROLE in Motivating the Brain Dead person’s relatives, and provided the Advanced Medical Infrastructure and Professional Competence to perform a ‘LIVE BODY DONATION’. He stressed on Awareness in the general masses and Networking between Peripheral Centers and Super-Specialty centers in Major cities, so that by a TEAM WORK such medical landmarks can be achieved. 20th August 2007 ASWT EDUCATION RELIEF AND SCHOLARSHIP FUND has organised Scholarship Distribution Ceremony for the previous year medical scholarship beneficiaries. Principal Mr. Rafikbhai Dhorat shall preside the occasion. Mr. Rashidbhai Patel and other members from Anjuman-e-Taleemul Islam, Malekpore shall also attend this ceremony. 13th November 2004 On account of Diwali Festival and Last Days of the holy month of Ramadaan, most of the Doctors and staffs were given two-day leave. As Emergency was announced at Alipore Hospital, all of them were recalled and worked round-the clock. First case was reported yesterday, on 12th of November at 2100 hrs and then patients started pouring with Food Poisoning symptoms. all night patients comprising of men, women and children were attended by Team of Medical Experts of ALIPORE HOSPITAL. At 0500 hrs all patients were declared 'out-of- danger' by the doctors. Officials of Local Police Station, Press and Media were ably tackled by the trustees and Doctors of ALIPORE HOSPITAL. ALIPORE SOCIAL WELFARE TRUST & ALIPORE HOSPITAL AND RESEARCH CENTRE extend deep gratitude to all those who volunteered in this rescue work.

2004 Mr. & Mrs. Haji Aboobhai Lunat and Mr. & Mrs. Haji Yusuf Laher are the leading personalities at Alipore Muslim Association, South Africa. They are dedicated Social Workers and have been involved in various social and welfare works in South Africa.

2003 All the Doctors and staffs at Alipore Hospital did their best to tackle these fatal accident victims and as all the patients had head injuries and multiple injuries they were prescribed for C.T.Scan and hence were shifted to Gohil Hospital for further treatment. Whilst shifting to Gohil Hospital Navsari, Doctors, Nursing Staffs, Wardboys and other staff of Alipore Hospital also went there with the victims to treat the patients while at transit. At Gohil Hospital Navsari Zubedaben breath her last while at C.T.Scan and Ainul-Haque Faruk Usman Diwan also passed away after 8-hour treatment at Gohil Hospital. Jainabben and Soeb were the only survivors who were then brought back to Alipore Hospital for further treatment. All at Alipore Social Welfare Trust and Alipore Hospital & Research Centre extend their deep sympathy to the grieving family members of the Diwan and Ranguni families and pray to Almighty to give strength and patience to all the members of the families. We all pray for the departed ones. May Almighty Allah forgive their misdeeds and grant all of them Highest Stage in Jannatul Firdaus. Ameen! Alipore had never faced a tragedy of the kind faced in the recent past few years. The previous fatal accident tragedy was of medical officer of Alipore Social Welfare Trust's Charitable Dispensary, Dr. Iqbal Shaikh, where 5 members of his family passed away in 1999. August 2003 Flag Hoisting Programme was held today on the occasion of Independence Day today. All doctors and staffs attended the ceremony. Secretary, Mr. Bashir Karolia unfurled the tri-colour with some patriotic words. Sweets were distributed on this auspicious day.

25th July 2003 Thanksgiving Get-together is organised on Thursday, 31st July 2003 at Alipore Hospital & Research Centre's Haji Adam Hassan Mayet Conference Hall at 2 p.m. village representative of 69 villages have been invited this meeting is for the thanks giving and apart of public relation programme for future health awareness schemes which will be implemented after suggestions of all the members in the meeting.

We all at Alipore Hospital extend our condolences to all near and dear in his family. Moulana Rafiq Sahab was famous for herbal (Ayurvedic) treatments. May Almighty forgive his misdeeds and grant him the highest stage in Jannatul Firdaus!...Ameen!The village of Alipore has witnessed a largest funeral procession in its history. Moulana was a very popular person in a very short period of his illustrious career.
