ASWT SCHOLARSHIP FUND In this world of science and technology, modern machineries and computerisation, we have already passed above jet-age. The time has come for us to educate the next generation to graduation and post graduation level. We at Alipore and around Alipore lag behind as far as higher education is concerned. Surveys prove that we have lot of students in Arts and Commerce Faculty and they are much more than required, and that demand for Medical and Information Technology faculties are much more and we don’t have enough students. By educating the children in Arts and Commerce will just create an army of unemployed youths. Hence, we at Alipore Social Welfare Trust have decided to give scholarships to students who deserve to be Doctors and for that we have started talent search in and around Alipore. We have decided to choose five talented youths for science faculty whom we shall adopt as soon as they pass their Secondary Examination and send them to such institution where they shall get best education and if possible we shall pick at least one student per year for Medical Education. Scholarships will be given to students who deserve further education (medical and / or para-medical). The terms and condition are easy. For well-to-do students, the student will be given money as a loan (bursaries) which they have to repay after graduation by working at Alipore Hospital for atleast two years and if ever any amount remains they will be given opportunity to repay in easy monthly instalments. Or from the Zakaat Fund (if need be) we can directly donate the needy student without any repayment, provided we have enough funds to contribute. We have adopted two students for Medical Studies (MBBS), first student under the careful guidance of Retd. Principal Mast Mangera. This student has already completed his 1st Year in Medicine at Tver Medical Academy, Tver Russia. We have jointly adopted this student with a condition to serve as Medical Officer at Alipore Hospital for Two Years after his completion of Internship. Second student is from Kathor Village who was introduced to us by the Principal Mr. Mohammed Rafiq Dhorat. This student is also Hafiz. Details about these students are given below. We have also adopted Two Orphan Children (1 Male Child for M. Sc. Bio-Chem. and another Child, his sister, for HSC Science Faculty + Information Technology) who shall be graduating from The University of Mumbai. Both the student has always got First Class marks in all their previous exams. We also shall be giving scholarships to 5 students, right from their matriculation (SSC/ICSE/CBSE level) for science faculty and help them gain admissions in medical and para-medical fields like B. Pharma., DMLT (Laboratory Technician), Nursing Degree etc. For ASWT SCHOLARSHIP FUND, initially we require Rs. 250,000/- for this year (say £ 3,200/-) which may increase to Rs. 500,000/- (say £ 6,400/-) in couple of years time. For this purpose we require at least 60 donors of £ 50/- each. If we donate someone the money is utilised in various things but if we utilise our funds for educating youngsters we are, in fact, investing in their future and making them capable to donate as per their capabilities. We request you to please pray for all these children for their bright future. |
