About Late Mr. Ismail Hassan Mayet ‘Jawahar’ in Brief

Haji Ismail Hassan Mayet, also known as ‘Jawahar’ was a great motivator and visionary person. He was the inspiration behind Alipore Hospital Project.

His frequent persuasion compelled us to go for Alipore Hospital Project. Otherwise, we, the Trustees of Alipore Social Welfare Trust, were quite content with a Charitable Dispensary and 4-Bedded Day Care Centre v ‘Jawahar Nursing Home’. In June 2001, we introduced Medical Services at Alipore Hospital with 20 Beds which was gradually increased to 60 beds; now, after completion of Expansion project, Alipore Hospital is on the verge to increase its capacity to more than 100 Beds.

Alipore Hospital is equipped with all machineries and equipments that can be compared with any of the Hospitals in the Metropolitan Cities. Consultants visiting from cities are surprised to see the Equipments and Machineries and the Services rendered at Alipore Hospital which is situated in the rural area.

Today, what we see at Alipore Social Welfare Trust and all the success of Alipore Hospital & Research Centre is due to his motivation and vision and above all his best wishes and prayers.

He was rightfully and unanimously selected as ‘Chairman Emeritus’ of Alipore Social Welfare Trust. He believed in Modernisation and Upgradation of Machineries and Equipments. His advice was to acquire the best of Machineries and Equipments and always try to get them updated or upgraded. With him behind us we had a huge moral support and we never looked behind.

Earlier in the afternoon of 2^nd October 2007, he was very happy as on that day we had opened a much-wanted CT Scan Centre. The Full Body CT Scan Centre was named, ‘Alipore Spiral CT Scan Centre’. He was the person who stood behind us at all times.

On Tuesday Georgian Date 2nd of October 2007, Islamic Hijri 19th Ramadaan 1428, we lost a great son of Alipore, Mr. Ismail Hassan Mayet. He was observing Ramadaan Roza (Fast) and was about to offer Evening (Asr Salaat) Prayers.
