MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT AS ON 15^TH JUNE 2002
 

Respected Elders, Brothers & Sisters,

Having been brought up at a Metropolis like Bombay, I have seen many Ultra- Modern hospital. These Mega hospitals are meant for effluent and privileged part of the society, due to exorbitant charges. Few from rural centers like Alipore and surrounding villages can afford visiting or having treatments in such hospitals in these mega towns and cities. As I am basically, a native of a rural place like Alipore, I envisaged a multi- disciplinary hospital with modern facilities, catering for the rural mass.

I am pleased to inform you that this dream project of setting up this mega project of Alipore Hospital and Research Centre is fulfilled and the services and operations never imagined in past had been performed in the hospital in the very first year itself.

This was possible because of Almighty's' mercy and prayers and good wishes of all the elders and all of you people.

During the year, we started hospital services from General Surgery and Emergency (Casualty) Departments and then we began introducing various departments like Cardiology and General Medicine, Orthopaedic, Radiology and Sonology, ICU, Pathology, ENT, Psychology, Dermatology, Urology, Neurology, Plastic Surgery, Gyneacology, Maternity and Obestratics, Physio-Therapy, and Medical Store to enable all the services under one roof. This itself is an achievement as there is no any trust hospitals with these types of facilities and services in and around the region.

Today I am please to inform you that One year has past since the Hospital services was started. After one year, that is between the period June-2001 to March-2002, the services to the patients were as under :

Here I would like to express my deep gratitude, on behalf of the trustees and people of Alipore and surrounding villages, to all those great peoples in India and abroad especially from U.K., France, South Africa and Kuwait who has been instrumental in the making of this hospital project. I also would like to express gratitude to all my Colleagues, Architect, Contractors, Doctors and our elders for their moral support to all of us. 

I, on behalf of all the trustees of Alipore Social Welfare Trust, would also like to express my deep gratitude to all those glorious peoples who have written to us through post, emails, web chat and telephonically, to encourage us, guide us, help us and to give their respective opinions which were very beneficial to us to serve the sick better. I request all of you to come forward and help us serve better in this good work of humanity.

I on behalf of all my colleagues at Alipore Social Welfare Trust and Alipore Hospital and Research Centre extend our gratitude to all at Muslim Aid UK for coming forward to sponsor expensive equipments like Ultra Sound Scanner Sonography Machine and Diesel Power Generator which has been very useful during frequent power failures.

We are pleased to inform you that we have tried our best to gather all types of Medical Specialists at Alipore Hospital and we are trying our best to give all types of medical treatments to the patients under one roof. Still we are trying to serve better to our patients. From June-2002 onwards we have appointed Two M.B.B.S. (One Male and One Female Doctors) Medical Officers to render better In-Patients and Out-Patient services.

Patients care is our first priority and we would try our best to take care of them. For which we require co-operations from you all. Your suggestions and advices might be very beneficial to us to serve the sick in best possible way.

Still, lot of equipment and instruments are required and for this, we require support from all over. We all request all of you to come forward and donate generously.

Our Main Requirements are Running Cost, Ventillator (adult/paediatric) for ICU & O.T. worth about Rs. 8,00,000/-, C-Arm Image Intensifier (IITV) worth Rs. 9,00,000/- for Operation Theatres, Instruments for Endoscope/Laproscope, Eye-Department Equipments, Orthopaedic Surgical Equipments, and Dental Department Equipments. If we get all these things, we can treat all patients under one roof with all the medical reliefs we can provide economically.

We are registered under Foreign Contribution Regulations Act  and also under Income- Tax 80G Exemption. 

Our aims are to serve the community with all the modern medical facilities at a very low cost, create medical awareness amongst the local populations, and create suitable job oriented opportunities.

May Almighty and Most Merciful bestow the best of his 'niamats' in both the worlds and show us all the right path. Ameen !
