CHARITABLE DISPENSARY
During August 1994, it was decided that the Charitable Dispensary will be situated at Br A Hai Gajaria House which was occupied on a monthly rental basis and as soon as we started the Dispensary the first donation received from abroad was from Mohammed Aminbhai Gajaria, which came as an encouragement.
There were two Resident Doctors. ASWT is proud to have one male Doctor and one female Doctor on resident basis. On weekly-basis E.N.T. surgeon Dr. Sanjay .P. Shah visited Jawahar Nursing Home, since its inception, for which the organisers are thankful to him. All the services rendered are FREE OF COST for the poor sections of the society, irrespective of caste, creed, colour, race or religion. Patients with a good economical status have to pay a reasonable (affordable) fees. A S W T also organised Eye camps, where optical lenses were distributed, free eye check-ups were done, Cataract Operations were performed Free of Cost, for the poor and needy patients. Today, this Charitable Dispensary is now at the service at Alipore Hospital General OPD and also FREE MOBILE DISPENSARY SERVICE(FMDS) is done under this Dispensary Department. Free Medical Check-ups and medicines are given to the patients. Recommended Medicines distributed to the Patients are charged with a paltry sum of Rs. 5/- (equivalent to US 10 Cents or UK 7 Penny).
ASWT Patient Relief Fund
ASWT PATIENT RELIEF FUND was introduced to
give further reliefs to needy patients treatment. During the previous
financial year, 2009-10, the contributions given through ASWT Patient
Relief Fund was Rs.
1,057,997.05 and in the
year 2010-11, Relief given was Rs. 1,248,221.50.
Reliefs given to the patients is
irrespective of caste, creed, color or religion. Apart from
ASWT
Patient Relief Fund, Departmental Reliefs given to the patient during
the previous financial year was Rs.
2,798,845.00
and
financial year
2010-11, Departmental Relief given was Rs.
6,068,756.00.
