DISTRIBUTION SCHOLARSHIPS FOR MEDICAL DEGREE CEREMONY

A programme organised by Alipore Social Welfare Trust's EDUCATION RELIEF & SCHOLARSHIP FUND DEPARTMENT was held on Sunday, 26th August 2007 at 15:00 Hrs at Late Haji Adam Hassan Mayet Conference Hall which was presided by Mr. Hassan Ismail Mayet, President, Alipore Social Welfare Trust, with the Guest of Honour being Mr Rafik Dorat, Principal MAI High School, Kathor, native of Village Bhoria  and Mr. A Rashid Patel, Secretary, Anjuman-e- Taleemul Muslimeen, Malekpore. The proceedings of the meeting / scholarship distribution ceremony is as under:

    1. Kiraat: The programme started with a “Kiraat”  from the verse of Holy Qur'aan, the words of Almighty God by Mr. Ziyauddin Maheta.

    2. Welcoming Guests: All guest were welcomed by Mr Hassan Mayet

    3. DISTRIBUTION OF SCHOLARSHIPS: Each Student was called and were given scholarships by Mr. Rashid Patel, Mr. Bashir Karolia, Mr. Rafikbhai Dhoratr and Mr. Hassan Mayet along with a gift.
    4. Speech: Mr. A Rashid Patel of Malekpore gave brief of Anjuman-e-Talimul Muslimeen and its motive to educate the under privileged. He gave few good advises to the students and advised them to study obediently and get good results. His tips and advises were applauded by all the people present. He said he was proud to have worked for Education Awareness with people like Dr. N I Kanuga, Mr. Hassan Mayet and Bashir Karolia. He stressed that students hould keep all their mind concentrated in studies and also be aware of what amount they are spending and how they are using the funds. A proper record of spending must be maintained,
    5. A member of Anjumane Talimul Muslimeen also gave a brief speech and extended his best wishes to the students.
    6. CHAIRMAN SPEECH: Mr. Hassanbhai Mayet explained in detail the effort made by the members to accumulate funds for Education Relief And Scholarships and that in the time when the students only above 92% marks could get medical admission and the students achieveing marks below 92% have to cough up a donation amount to the tune of upto Rs. 35 Lacs for reputed Medical Colleges which deprives under-previledged students from Medical Degree, the less expensive alternative is to send their ward to Russia, China, Mauritius, Belarus and other countries. He said lot of students are diverting to foreign countries just because of heavy expenditure and depriving of Admissions because of reservations to Scheduled Caste and tribes and other resrevations like OBC and private placements. He also gave a red alert signal by asking all the students to behave well or else the donors would hesitate if even 1 student crosses his or her limits.

    7. Mr. Ziauddin Maheta gave his brief speech by expressing his good wishes and gratitudes to Alipore Social Welfare Trust and Anjume-e--Talimul Muslimeen.

    8. A Student was asked to speak about their experience at Russia for the 1st year. he gave very nice view and all the members gave him a big hand after his speech.

    9. SPEECH BY CHIEF GUEST:  Mr. Rafikbhai Dhorat  said after all he is a teacher so he said he will only give brief advices to students and parents. He gave few examples of his students in the hostel and also told about his experiences when he had to walk long distances for school to seek education. He lauded the Scholarships given by Alipore Socail Welfare Trust and Anjuman-e-Talimul Muslimeen for the effort and stress taken by them to generate Education Awareness for Higher Education in various academic fields.

    10. VOTE OF THANKS: Mr. Hassanbhai Mayet, President of ASWT thanked all the people for attending the programme. He also thanked all the donors especially all the members of Muslim Aid UK  who had made this project of Education Relief and Scholarship a big success. He also thanked the visiting  delegates for sacrificing their time and attending this function. He also assured the guests to do the needful for their suggestions. He also thanked for the donations of equipments.  He thanked Almighty and prayed for all the donors and doctors and staffs and colleagues for their support.

    11. Duaa: The meeting ended with a “Duaa” from Mr. Ziyauddin Maheta.
