FAREWELL PROGRAMME MEETING

The Farewell Programme Meeting was organised at ALIPORE HOSPITAL BUILDING, 2nd Floor, Alipore, on 21st October 2008 at 3.30 p.m. to bid Farewell to .

Dr. Pradip Patel and Dr. Jyoti Patel who had served Five Years at Alipore Hospital under the Chairmanship of Mr. Yusufbhai Karolia of Batley, UK.

 MINUTES:

a)                    Recitation of the Holy Qur’aan: To start the programme it is very beneficial to begin with recitation from the words of Allah, the Almighty and Most Merciful, hence a student of  Jameah Hidayatul-Islam recited some verses of Holy Qur’aan.

b)                    Welcoming the Guests : Mr. Abdul Hai Gajaria, Vice-President, Alipore Social Welfare Trust, welcomed the guest and gave brief detail about the programme and services rendered by Dr. Pradip Patel and Dr. Jyoti Patel.

c)                    Introduction of Guests: Mr. Bashir Karolia, Secretary of ASWT and Alipore Hospital, expressed his feelings about the services of Dr. Pradip Patel and Dr. Jyoti Patel by giving few good examples he would hardly forget and also introduced each guests present. Mr. Hassan Mayet, President Alipore Social Welfare Trust and Mr. Gulam Nabi Laher, Treasurer, Alipore Social Welfare Trust, gave flowers to each guest as Mr. Bashir Karolia announced the names of each guest.

d)                   Announcement of Chair of the Farewell Programme Meeting: Mr. Bashir Karolia suggested the name of Mr. Yusuf Karolia as the Chairman of the Farewell Programme Meeting, which was seconded by Mr. Hassan Mayet.

e)                   Brief Introduction of the Chair: Mr. Bashir Karolia and Mr. Abdul Hai gave brief introduction of the Chair, Mr. Yusuf Karolia. Mr. Bashir Karolia stated that Mr. Yusuf Karolia had been a very ardent supporter of ASWT and had been helping ASWT a lot by giving his valuable time and energy for Fund-Raising of ASWT. Mr. Abdul Hai also stated that he had been witnessing Mr. Yusuf karolia knocking each door in Batley even in bad weather for the Fund-raising of ASWT.

f)                     FEW WORDS FROM:
i) Dr. Amit Dev: Full-Time Orthopedic Surgeon of Alipore Hospital, stated that it would be a very tearful farewell for him to bid as Dr. Pradip and Dr. Jyoti Patel had been very closely associated to him and that he would miss them both but at the same time he wished them a very bright future.

             ii) Mr. Ebrahim Seedat: of South Africa and Worldwide Chairman, Degam Muslim Association, stated that he was very pleased to attend this programme and at the same time he was a bit disturbed to know that Dr. Pradip and Dr. Jyoti Patel are leaving this lovely organisation after five years of their services to start a private hospital. However, he said, every person has to go for career development and as they are starting a new venture he gave his best wishes and also suggested to serve the poorest of the poor in the locality as he was doing so in this institution.

g)                   Speech from President of ASWT, Mr. Hassan Mayet: Chairman, Alipore Social Welfare Trust and Alipore Hospital firstly stated that all parting was very sad and tearful and to bid good-bye to someone who had been with you for more than five years is always very sad. Down the memory lane he gave brief examples of the services rendered by Dr.Pradip Patel and Dr. Jyoti Patel. He also stated that it was very kind of all the guest from UK and S Africa to attend this meeting and also stated that he feels very grateful of Mr. Yusuf Karolia for accepting to attend this occasion and also for accepting to be the Chair of this meeting.

He then stated that we must be the Trustees of ASWT but the Main Trustee was none other than Mr. Yusuf Karolia who had devoted his time, energy and have left no stone unturned, to generate funds required for ASWT. He said we had to just send quotation of the Equipment and he alongwith his team of other members saw to it that we had acquired them as early as we can. He wished him well and also said that Mr. Yusuf Karolia has kept the word he gave to his father, Late Ismail Hassan Mayet, Jawahar, that he will do whatsoever for ASWT as long as he can. He assured Mr. Yusuf Karolia that on behalf of ASWT, we would not let our services down but try each and every effort to increase the services and facilities as required which can only be compared with Metropolitan cities at Alipore Hospital.

He then wished Dr. Pradip Patel and Dr. Jyoti Patel the best for the future and said that he is assured that being good persons they both shall serve for the cause of poor and needy patients and whenever he shall hear good about them all the Trustees and people of Alipore shall feel proud of them because they were the PRODUCT of ALIPORE HOSPITAL. He ended his speech with best wishes and thanked to all the person attending this meet.

h)                   SPEECH FROM THE CHAIR: The Chair of this Farewell Programme Meet, Mr. YUSUF KAROLIA stated that he was mere worker of Alipore Hospital and that he feels proud to have been associated with this trust and also felt very satisfied that he had heard all these years about Alipore Hospital but when he saw this institution he felt it was much more than he expected.

He said he heard about Dr. Pradip Patel and Dr. Jyoti Patel but he feels that after seeing them personally they were found to be very good persons to serve Alipore Hospital and for being Asset of Alipore Hospital all these years.

He then wished both the Doctors well and thanked Alipore Social Welfare Trust to invite him to attend the Meet and also for offering him to be the Chair and Chief Guest of this Farewell Programme Meeting. 

He further stated that he would continue his support to Alipore Hospital in future also.

i)                     SPEECH FROM Dr. PRADIP PATEL: MD (Physician) of Alipore Hospital, stated that it was hard for him to choose to leave Alipore Hospital or Private Career but in the five years of his services he feels grateful of All the Trustees of Alipore Social Welfare Trust to have been treating him like a Family Member and that he feels very happy to have associated with ASWT and being given opportunity to serve at Alipore Hospital.

He said he learnt many things during the years past and said he found ASWT was truly a very good welfare hospital where poorest of poor were treated with best of the facilities, which was a dream come true in this locality.

He said he was always encouraged to work for the community in this area and treat all patients equal. There was no ‘first class patient’ in the hospital all patients were treated equally same way and with the welfare schemes for the poor, many poor patients have benefited for which he feels satisfied and wished ASWT shall continue to serve the patients as they have served earlier.

He said he was there anytime when ASWT and Alipore Hospital needed him. Alipore Hospital will always be in his heart and shall always be remembered by him as long as he was there.

i)                    SPEECH FROM Dr. JYOTI PATEL: Gynaecologist, Alipore Hospital, in her brief speech, stated that, she shall serve the people as suggested by the personalities earlier and was grateful to have associated with ASWT and thanked the trustees to give her opportunity to serve the patients at Alipore Hospital. She said that they were the product of Alipore Hospital and shall never let ASWT down.

ii) CERTIFICATE PRESENTATION TO Dr. PRADIP PATEL: Chief Guest and  Chairman of this Farewell Programme Meeting, Mr. Yusuf Karolia presented Certificate issued by Alipore Social Welfare Trust to Dr. Pradip Patel.
iii) SHAWL TO Dr. JYOTI PATEL: Mrs. Rashida Ebrahim Seedat honoured  Dr. Jyoti Patel by putting shawl on her shoulder.
iv) CERTIFICATE PRESENTATION TO Dr. JYOTI PATEL: Mrs. Noorjahan Yusuf Karolia presented Certificate to Dr. Jyoti Patel.
v) SHAWL TO Dr. Mr. YUSUF KAROLIA: Mr. Gulam Nabi Ismail Laher, Treasurer, Alipore Social Welfare Trust  honoured  Chief Guest, Mr.  Yusuf Mohammed Karolia by putting shawl on his shoulder.
vi) CERTIFICATE OF APPRECIATION TO Mr. YUSUF MOHAMMED KAROLIA: Mr. Ebrahim Seedat presented Certificate of Appreciation to Mr. Yusuf Mohammed Karolia from Batley, UK for his selfless services and fund raising campaign on behalf of ALIPORE SOCIAL WELFARE TRUST.
vii) A GIFT TO Dr.
PRADIP PATEL & Dr. JYOTI PATEL: Chief Guest and  Chairman of this Farewell Programme Meeting, Mr. Yusuf Karolia gave a gift on behalf of ASWT to Dr. Pradip Patel and Dr. Jyoti Patel.

l)                      VOTE OF THANKS: Mr. Abdul Hai Gajaria thanked all the personalities attending this meeting and announced the meeting closed and requested all to remain on their seats as refreshments were being served.
