FUNCTION TO FELICITATE DELEGATES FROM

A meeting of Board of Trustees of Alipore Social Welfare Trust was held in Haji Adam Hassan Mayet Conference Hall at AHRC. Delegates from U.K. and Alipore who attended, are as under:

  26. Trustees of ASWT Hassan Mayet, Bashir Karolia, GulamNabi Laher and Ashraf Vali have attended the meet, apart from other villagers from Alipore and nearby villages.

Dr. Jayraj Desai, on behalf of Alipore Social Welfare Trust and Alipore Hospital and Research Centre welcome all the guests and gave a brief introduction of the Alipore Social Welfare Trust and it’s work and services rendered by Alipore Hospital and asked for suggestions and support from all the delegates. Noted Social worker and Ex-Mayor of Alipore Village, Mr. Salimbhai Patel introduced the guest from UK and South Africa and said that the project of Alipore Hospital was long due and the youths of Alipore has done a wonderful job in providing the best possible medical services and Medical Experts in the Hospital. He said with the Alipore Hospital serving the sick and poor with best facilities, many of the poor patients who were deprived from expensive treatment are now taking full benefit from the best Doctors in the hospital. He also said the other skilled staffs like Nurses and Para-medical personnel are also very professional and requested the visitors from abroad to come forward and help by donating the hospital generously for the poor patients.

 

Salimbhai also felt that there was more need for better equipments and so good donations are required. And asked all the delegates to advise or suggest for improvement of the services rendered by Alipore Hospital. He also expressed satisfaction of funds utilized with proper advice from Ulema’s and elders. Salimbhai Patel expressed his satisfaction on rendering expensive medicines and treatment for the poor patients which are done by Alipore Hospital in cheap or subsidized rates. He appealed to the delegates to open up and donate generously to ASWT for better equipments and best services at Alipore Hospital.

 

Mr. Ahmedbhai Loonat OBE started his speech with a brief introduction of our guest from Birmingham, Mr. Prafulbhai Amin who spared his valuable time during his brief visit to India just to visit friends of UK and their native village, Alipore. Mr. Loonat also said that he was a successful businessman and also a renowned Gujarati Poet and that he has done lot of good work towards Gujarati literature in the UK. After brief introduction of Mr. Prafulbhai Amin he announced that Mr. Prafulbhai Amin has just donated a sum of Rs. 40,000/- towards Alipore Hospital's Operation Theatre Department and also assured that he shall be helping and supporting the trust in future also. He thanked Mr. Amin on behalf of the trust for his generous gesture.

 

Mr. Ahmedbhai Loonat also said that he has visited Alipore 2 years earlier and now recently too and he is very pleased to see that it has been progressing day-by- day and the services rendered and facilities provided are far better than 2 years ago. He said he is also satisfied with the way, the funds are utilized.

 

Mr. Ismailbhai Mulla of Leicester, who is also the representative of Alipore Social Welfare Trust in Leicester UK said that during his visit to India in 1996, he happened to visit Alipore Social Welfare Trust’s Charitable Dispensary and 4- Bedded Jawahar Nursing Home, he met the trustees for the first time and saw that they had a vision of a Multi-Disciplinary General Hospital in their mind and that he was having confidence that these people will do the needful in near future. At that time he pledged to the trustees that he will try his best to help them during the donation drive and he did do that. Mr. Mulla also said he is pleased to see that the dream of Alipore Hospital Project is fulfilled.

 

Mr. Mulla further stated that he has come to visit India just for his treatment of Prostrate Operation. He said he had got appointment for this operation 9 months later date at UK hospital, hence he preferred to get operated himself in India rather that have Urosac Catherater bag along with him all the time till he gets operated at UK and having risk of getting infection also is enormous. He said he got himself operated in Alipore Hospital and he is feeling good and agile. He says he is very happy with the Doctors, Medical Officers, Staffs and Para-Medicals staffs. The most amazing thing he has experienced here is the personal touch of the medical experts in Alipore Hospital. He said one should not forget that Alipore Hospital is the ideal place where one should donate generously to serve the sick and poor patients in the best possible way.

 

Dr. Jayraj Desai informed the visitors with the Doctors and the services and facilities provided at Alipore Hospital and said even the drinking water for the patients are from the in-house Mineral Water Plant. He also said that Laparoscopy and Arthroscopy Machine is due in one month and that the machine will be operational, since the delivery is expected soon in the month of February 2004. He also thanked Mr Prafulbhai Amin on behalf of Alipore Hospital, for his generous donation and said that he will be seeing to it that his donation is used in the rightful manner.

 

Mr. Prafulbhai Amin said he is honoured to visit Alipore and that Alipore Hospital is an ideal place where human being is actually treated as human being in the correct manner. He said Alipore is an ideal village and if all the villages in India can be like Alipore than he feels India’s most of the problems will be solved. He also said India has a good person as a President, Mr. Kalam is a man of vision and his vision can be fulfilled if the villages in India are like Alipore. He said Alipore Hospital is a very clean and well-maintained hospital and that he can compare this hospital with any hospital in UK. The Trustees and Doctors are very co-operative and he said that the vision of the trustees and Doctors are commendable and he is pleased with all the facilities provided at Alipore Hospital.

Mr. Bashirbhai Karolia, Secretary of Alipore Hospital, thanked all the delegates for giving time and visiting Alipore Hospital and requested all of them to support and co-operate with the work done by Alipore Hospital and also asked all the delegates for suggestion and that all the Trustees are open to all the suggestions and comments of all and from all sides. He again thanked all those who attended the function in full quorum by brief notice and also said that their suggestions shall be discussed an implemented and thanked all of them for their suggestions. He requested all the delegates presents to remember Alipore Social Welfare Trust and Alipore Hospital in their pious prayers (duaas). He again expressed his deep gratitude, on behalf of all at Alipore Social Welfare Trust and Alipore Hospital, to all the delegates who sacrificed their time and attended the functioning big numbers.
